Links & Partnerships
Working collaboratively and in partnership with individuals, families, communities and other service organizations is central to who we are.
Inner City Connections – Boyle Street and Edmonton and Area Child and Family Services, Region 6 are collaborating to deliver better services to at-risk children, youth and families. Region 6 workers are located at Boyle Street to enhance the partnership, do joint case planning and work closely with community members.
High Risk Youth Project – Youth specialists, with Boyle Street training, are working to meet the needs of youth who have not been able to make use of existing Edmonton and area Child and Family Services, Region 6 resources.
Inner City Youth Housing – Boyle Street and three other agencies collaborate to provide alternative housing for youth regardless of the child welfare status.
Edmonton Learning Centre – Co-located with Boyle Street, the Centre provides adults with an avenue to develop their literacy and find a voice for the issues of concern to them. ELC’s programs encourage journal writing, poetry and artwork.
Streetworks – For 20 years Boyle Street has collaborated with partner agencies to deliver harm reduction services to sex trade workers and people dealing with addiction issues.
Health for Two – Supporting prenatal health has grown from the pilot of an idea to a region-wide service that engages over 36 organizations.
Mental Health Workshop – Alberta Hospital Edmonton and Boyle Street have provided a community-based “day program” for inner city residents that includes a workshop, life skill, social and recreational activities and coordinates cases with other providers in the centre and the larger community.
Family Shelter Network – In collaboration with the Bissell Centre, Boyle Street helps families to secure and maintain a home. Once housing is secured, many families have children in care return home.
Old Strathcona Adult Outreach – Working with business, residents, faith communities and service organizations, Boyle Street provides outreach services to people who panhandle or are homeless on Whyte Avenue.
Parkland Outreach & Housing Support – Outreach workers collaborate with the City of Edmonton and Park Rangers to assist people living in the river valley to find alternatives.
Winter Emergency Response – Boyle Street participates in a coordinated interagency response to homelessness in the winter. This includes running extended drop-in hours, providing transportation to emergency shelters and striving to help people, particularly children and families, to look forward to having their own home.
