Celebrate with us.

Fifty years ago, Boyle Street Community Services was founded to provide a wide range of services under a single roof to people experiencing poverty and homelessness in our city. Today, Boyle Street Community Services provides more than 40 programs across 13 locations in Edmonton.

You might know us as the big blue building downtown across the street from Roger’s Place. But really, we’re everywhere! We operate bridge housing units, group homes for youth, support programs for pregnant parents, and a Winter Warming Bus that travels across the city to transport people to shelter.

We wouldn’t be who we are today without the support of our neighbours and partners. We have a lot to be proud of together: opening one of the first Drop-In spaces to serve everyone regardless of religion or substance use, founding Alberta’s first charter school to make education accessible to street-involved youth, developing Indigenous cultural services, and blazing the trail for harm reduction programs across Canada.

At the heart of our work, we listen, care and advocate for our community members to support them in breaking the cycle of poverty and homelessness. We are so proud of our staff’s ability to adapt to challenges without losing track of what is really important: our community.

This year, join us in celebrating our golden anniversary and where we come from, who we are, and where we’re going.

Check out our Historical Timeline to hear more of our stories.

50th Anniversary Schedule of Events:

Due to the uncertainty around COVID-19, it's difficult to set a schedule for our celebrations this year. But we are planning some pretty fun events to celebrate our community, staff, and supporters. Stay tuned!
