Kitchen Support Volunteer

Time Commitment:

2 to 3 shifts per week from 8:30 AM -1 PM


Position title: Kitchen Support Volunteer


Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting with meal prep and cooking of meals.

  • Assisting with meal service to the community.

  • Assisting with cleaning of kitchen.

Not expected to:

  • Prepare meal on their own or to be solely responsible for meal service.

Qualifications:

  • Food Safety Handling Certificate (optional)

  • Cooking experience

  • Able to work well in a fast-passed environment.

Able to:

  • Stand for long periods of time

  • Be able to handle sharp kitchen utensils safely

  • Have general knowledge around WHMIS

  • Be able to think critically

  • Be able to follow direction from staff

  • Have the capacity to work in a cooperative manner


Training:

Any position-specific training that will be provided: General training around preparation of specific meals will be provided by Food Services Coordinator, Ani Joseph.
