Scientific Supervisor and Consultant

The applicant in the process of working on a scientific work is usually assisted by 2 specialists: a mentor and a consultant. These should be experienced employees of the university, laboratory.

The supervisor is selected from among the staff of the department to which the applicant is assigned. Based on the decision of the commission, a representative of another department, department or other organization may be a consultant. For both the Supervisor and the Consultant, the hours of work on a separate project are counted as a study load. That is why the representatives of the teaching staff appointed on a separate project must, within the stipulated time (25 hours per year), provide the full range of necessary professional assistance.

In special cases, there may be two supervisors. Mentors are appointed in the event that the author of the work has sent a request for such a need, indicating the rationale (for example, the study affects related sciences).

Feedback from the supervisor

A well-executed study is not a 100% guarantee of successful protection. Feedback is required. Written by his supervisor. If the mentor is well acquainted with the dissertation, has put a lot of effort into it, then he knows about the strengths and weaknesses of the research. An adequate leader will not recall when writing a review about some problems in the process of writing and processing the work. He will write a good review for the dissertation. The document is written in any form, taking into account some features:

  • a general description of the candidate is given;

  • the significance and effectiveness of scientific work is assessed;

  • the time of study of the applicant in graduate school is indicated, attention is focused on the results;

  • data are recorded on diplomas, certificates, certificates received during training in additional professional educational programs;

  • describes the content of labor, its dignity;

  • the work is evaluated for compliance with the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission;

  • the merits and achievements of the applicant are listed;

  • it is prescribed in what form the testing took place, where the results of the research work were presented;

  • a personal characteristic of the person who wrote the dissertation is given, including, the leader dwells on the desire for search, initiative, the ability of the ward to make decisions independently, etc.

If the relationship during this time did not work out or worsened, then the review may be negative.

Third party ambulance

It often happens that a supervisor is appointed, a consultant is available, and the work on the dissertation must be carried out by the applicant himself. On the one hand, independence in research activities is wonderful, but why is a mentor appointed? To provide professional assistance. It is important from the very beginning to correctly build a plan for working on a dissertation, to determine the most important points in the study. If help is provided reluctantly, then it is almost impossible to protect yourself from annoying mistakes that can cost you an academic title.

That is why our educational portal provides mentoring services for candidate and doctoral dissertations to everyone. Among the employees are acting doctors of sciences, professors who provide the full range of necessary methodological assistance. In particular, we provide a review that is competent in all respects, which will be willingly signed by the official supervisor. We accompany our students until the dissertation defense, help to outline a work plan, achieve goals, implement tasks and achieve the desired result.
