  • May 1 to October 31: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

  • November 1 to April 30: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    with extended Drop-In hours until 8 p.m. Monday - Sunday

     

Getting Here

Bus service is available on the following routes: 3, 9, 12, 125, 134, and 151. The southbound stop is #1050, northbound is #1587.

Services Overview

Our downtown Community Centre offers a large variety of programs and services. The Centre welcomes and serves people of all age groups, ethnicities, backgrounds, and orientations. 

Housing

Housing First

Funded by our partner Homeward Trust, this program helps our clients obtain and maintain housing.

Housing Intake and Referral

A housing specialist works with clients to get their names added to the by-names list and on track for housing. 

Inner City Youth Housing Project (ICYHP)

Partnership program with E4C and Bissell Centre, which provides housing to vulnerable youth and adults. 

 

Family & Youth

Youth Unit

Provides services and support to street-involved youth ages 16-26.

Allies for Youth

External outreach for youth with Child and Family Services involvement who are engaged in high-risk lifestyles.

Health 4 Two

Nutrition and health-focused program for pregnant women who face multiple barriers to inclusion. 

Home Visitation

Family-centered support program working with families with children under the age of 5.

 

Family Outreach

Family-centered support program working with families with children over the age of 5.

Relentless Connector

Preventative programming supporting families with potential Child and Family Services involvement. 

 

Cultural Supports

Kahkiyaw

Partnership with Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society operating under a collaborative service delivery (CSD) model.

 

Indian Residential School Program

Provides culture and support for Residential School Survivors and their families. 

 

Missing and Murdered Women and Girls Program

Provides supports to families impacted by the loss of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. 

 

Outreach & Support Services

24/7 Crisis Diversion

Partnership program that offers support in non-emergency crisis situations. Just call 211 and Press 3. 

 

Street Outreach

Offers support, basic supplies, and relationship building to those living rough year round in Edmonton.

Heavy Users of Service (HUoS)

Includes intensive case management for individuals who have been identified as facing significant barriers to accessing services. Uses a multi-partner and services collaboration with emergency service providers. 

Community Supports

Inner-City Connections (ICC)

Partnership with Child and Family Services designed to streamline relationships by situating a CFS unit in our building.

 

Identification Services

Helps clients obtain and maintain identification as well as host status card sign up events on a regular basis.

 

Drop-In

Our Drop-In is so much more than just lunch and coffee it provides warmth safety and various activities. Our clients are a family  It is the heart of our downtown Community Centre. 

Community Support Workers

A program designed to help connect clients to services so that they can meet short and long term goals.

 

Pet Food Bank

Volunteer-run and donation-based. Operating Mondays and Fridays, clients use these services to access pet food and accessories. 

 

Intake and Referral

The first step in accessing services at our Community Centre. This program addresses the immediate needs of our clients and provides referral when necessary. 

 

Legal Services

Legal support and advice provided by law students from the University of Alberta under the supervised by a member of the Bar. 

Mental Wellness

Urban Counselling

provides free therapeutic counselling, along with in-home counselling sessions to inner-city clients. 

 

Mobile Outreach Addictions Team

Provides support, advocacy and guidance to clients requiring access to AHS addiction and mental health services.

 

Mental Health Outreach Workers

Support client living in the inner-city with mental health concerns connected with the services and support they need while providing holistic and therapeutic support.

 

Mental Wellness Drop-In

A quiet drop-in space where clients can use computers, check out books from their library and also access art supplies. 

Health & Wellness

StreetWorks

Sister agency located in the Community Centre that offers health and services based on a harm reduction model. For more information visit www.streetworks.ca

 

Supervised Consumption Services

Provides a safe, secure and sanitary place of respect for clients to consume substances intravenously. Clients are supervised by staff including nurses and counsellors, and informational materials regarding addiction are readily available. 

 

Inner City Recreation

Provides year-round programming to connect clients to a variety of meaningful recreation activities.
