Standing in solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter

Due to the events that have transpired over the past week, Boyle Street Community Services acknowledges that systemic racism and violence is felt by Indigenous communities and people of colour in deep and persistent ways in Canada. It is the cause of great pain for too many in our community and in our staff group – and therefore is a cause of great pain for all of us.

We are asking other people and organizations to stand with us as we stand against racism in all its forms. We strive to be an inclusive organization that serves and welcomes all people. We stand in solidarity with the many people and groups standing up against intolerance, including our friends in the #BlackLivesMatter movement. We ask you to support Indigenous and Black-owned businesses and to educate yourself about racism in Edmonton. It is only by standing together that we can put an end to the indignity of racism.
