National Housing Day and our commitment to Housing Choice

Become a Homemaker today and be part of the solution

At any given time in Edmonton there are approximately 2,700 people experiencing chronic homelessness. It's a complex issue that requires a compassionate and diverse approach. At Boyle Street Community Services, we're committed to providing just that - our vision is one of community, choice, and a future where everyone has a place to call home.

Our new 'Homemakers' campaign is a reflection of this vision. It's an invitation to Edmontonians to join us in our mission to end chronic homelessness. But it's more than just a campaign - it's a testament to our belief in the power of diverse housing choice.

At Boyle Street, we understand that there's no one-size-fits-all solution to homelessness, which is why we offer a range of housing options, each designed with the needs and feedback of those we serve in mind. From the communal living of Montrose to the nurturing environment of sikihta kikinaw, Cree for 'House of Love,' along with our other housing programs, our housing options reflect our commitment to choice and diversity.

Our approach is rooted in the understanding that there are many different experiences of homelessness. By providing diverse housing options, we are creating housing choice that allows individuals to work toward their housing goals at their own pace, in an environment that feels right for them.

The 'Homemakers' campaign is a part of this vision. A donation of $650 can cover a month's rent for a resident at one of our housing sites, providing a place to live for someone experiencing houselessness. Becoming a Homemaker is about more than making a donation - it's about making an immediate difference in someone’s life.

We believe in the power of community and choice. We believe that everyone deserves a place to call home. And we believe that with your help, we can make this vision a reality.

Today – on National Housing Day - join us in our mission to end chronic homelessness in Edmonton and provide access to safe and affordable housing for everyone. Learn more about our housing vision and the 'Homemakers' campaign at boylestreet.org/homemakers.
